In Full Bloom: New Office, Growing Team, and Bold Moves Across the Value Chain
Spring has brought fresh energy to the Global Impact Coalition. Our team is growing, and we’ve just moved into a new office in the heart of Geneva’s old town. It’s an exciting milestone and a fitting new home base as we expand our work and welcome new collaborators. If you're in Geneva, please stop by for a coffee!
This month also marks the launch of our Value Chain Partner initiative. GIC has a strong foundation bringing together leaders from the chemical and recycling sectors to accelerate progress on emissions and circularity. Now, to drive deeper, on-the-ground impact, we’re inviting consumer goods companies to join the GIC and bring their downstream perspective to shared projects, in turn helping turn Scope 3 targets into real, scalable solutions. Project Update: Launching new projects and advancing others toward spin-off
We’re kicking off five new projects on critical topics including Sustainable Biomass Sourcing, 100% Circular Waste Streams, PFAS Remediation & Destruction, and others while advancing projects on Sustainable Methanol and Automotive Plastics Circularity. Two other projects are preparing for spin out: Direct Conversion research with scientists from ETH Zurich and Sustainable Olefins.
All of these initiatives will come together at ourin-person community meeting on June 10–11 in Ludwigshafen, Germany, where members will join focused working group sprints to accelerate project delivery and collaboration.

"Sustainability has always been, and will continue to be, a long-term challenge we must address. In today’s economic climate, it’s become even more difficult. While many see its importance, fewer are willing to act and invest. As a result, deadlines and goals are often pushed back. I believe that recognizing these realities can help us stay focused and committed to building a more sustainable future."
“Research institutes and universities will play an increasingly instrumental role in shaping interdisciplinary innovation, policy development and research that is relevant and applicable to our society, while training talent with the necessary skills."
Upcoming Webinar: Closing the Loop for a Circular Chemical Industry
Join the Global Impact Coalition and EY Circular Economy Network for an engaging discussion with industry leaders in this webinar. This roundtable will bring together experts from GIC, EY and leading chemical, consumer goods and recycling companies to explore the key challenges and opportunities in advancing a circular chemical industry. In conjunction with the release of our whitepaper, we will discuss how the chemical industry can transition towards circularity through the scaling of enabling technologies, the support of effective regulations, and the development of critical infrastructure.Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from industry leaders and be part of the conversation on shaping a more circular future for chemicals.
Following the announcement of the Automotive Plastics Circularity pilot, Interplas/ BP&R contributor Rhiannon Temporal had the opportunity to get the inside scoop on the pilot. Read article
