Chain Reaction: Welcoming Consumer Goods Companies and Energizing the GIC Community
🚀 Launching Our Value Chain Partner Platform
This month we’re excited to launch a new platform to bring global consumer goods companies into direct collaboration with the chemical industry. Our goal? To co-develop tangible, scalable solutions that address Scope 3 emissions, circularity, and sustainable materials. From ingredients to packaging, consumer brands depend on the chemical sector—but solving industry-wide challenges requires joint action. Through this initiative, we’re inviting brands to help shape real-world projects, not just strategies. As GIC CEO Charlie Tan puts it: “We are putting out a strong call to action for global consumer goods companies to co-build the next generation of supplier-enabled solutions.” Interested to get involved? 🌍Advancing Projects in our Global Community Meeting This month, we gathered over 45 colleagues from across our member companies for GIC’s Annual Community Meeting—and left more energized than ever. Over two days of working sprints, we pushed forward major collaborative projects, from redesigning how cars are dismantled to reclaim plastic, to piloting breakthrough PFAS destruction technologies. We also advanced work on circular municipal solid waste systems and sustainable biomass sourcing. It’s a clear reminder: by combining our expertise and resources, we can accelerate progress faster—and farther—than any company could alone.

A standout GIC moment? Collaborating with the Automotive Plastics Circularity group at a dismantler’s yard—sharing ideas around an excavator, united by a common goal despite coming from different companies.
As the voice behind Moeve Chemicals’ external communications, Alba helps shape how the company shares its sustainability journey with the world. Her approach to long-term goals? Break them into measurable milestones, stay grounded in data, and celebrate every small win on the way.
Going to K Fair in Dusseldorf in October? Let's ideate together!
Join the Global Impact Coalition for an interactive ideation workshop to identify ecosystem-level ideas to advance the chemical industry and related value chains towards a net-zero and circular future. Together, we'll explore how we can collectively achieve breakthrough sustainable business solutions unattainable for companies working on their own.
